The First Thing
I Knew, my clothes are too big. I got on the scale and it's doing a back flip------HOORAY!!!!!!!
"There I was pushing the scales at 209--the most I had ever weighed in my life! 209
is just what I needed to go along with being 40, right?
My weight was making me feel depressed and I was losing my
self-esteem. The doctors were on my case about my weight, my glucose level and my high
cholesterol. They all fussed about the problems--but none offered a solution.
I have dieted on and off all my life so I knew the first thing I
had to do was to prepare myself mentally to make a change and, secondly to find the right
product.
I didn't want something that would make me so irritable that my
family would want to lock me out of the house and I didn't want something that would risk
my health.

My name is Pam
Turner. I would like to share my story with you.
All my life I have battled with being overweight. I have tried every
diet known to man. Some would work for a while, a few pounds lost,
most
not at all. I would feel hungry, weak, and deprived. The weight
loss, if
any, was slow and disappointing. I had just come off of a year of
"low
carbing" with no significant success. I did have a wicked case
of gout

Hello,
Allow me to introduce myself. I am Jo Marie Miller and I am
an RN.
Although I am now permanently disabled with my back
injuries, I am still a
nurse and always will be. I have been a nurse my entire
life, since I started
taking care of my sisters and brother at age 3. It gives me
great satisfaction to have the positive feedback from my
patients and it is what I miss the most now that I can't
work.
I have been overweight my entire life. As a second grader I
weighed116#. As
a Junior in HS I weighed 251#. My sister and I went to a
weight loss doc and
took lots of pills and I did lose about 50 #. But then I
gradually gained it
back and more. In 1982, I weighed 320 #. My asthma was so
bad, I was told if I didn't do something, I would die before
I was 40. I was 36. Then we had a lady come into our ICU in
Status Asthmaticus, and because of her weight we could not
do adequate compressions and we were unable to intubate her,
she died.
That scared me enough that I had a gastroplasty in Feb of
1982. I lost 110
pounds over the next 9 months, and then I felt so strange, I
stopped being so diligent. I got as low as 198, but over the
years I gained it back. Or at
least most of it.
When I ruptured my disk on the job in 1993, I weighed 268#
again. Well, after surgery, I was determined not to get
fatter, so I started walking, going across the room then out
in the hall then around the upstairs then outside
where I gradually worked up to walking 2 1/2 to 3 miles per
day. With the
exercise I lost 40 #. When I went back home (I recovered at
my sister's)
circumstances required that I take my 3 grandchildren in to
live with me and
I also continued to walk 2-3 miles a day. I lost probably
another 15# or so.
Then the children and I moved to WA and by that time I was
back up to 240+. When I met Bill, my husband, I wanted to
lose weight, feel better about myself, and make my back
better, so I went to a health club, to get my back stronger,
the side effect of exercising everyday, was that I lost 30
pounds. We got married in May '96, and moved here to
Janesville, CA in August '98. I found myself creeping up the
scales again. I went back to work, mostly night shift and
got into the habit of eating to stay awake. I worked for an
agency at the two local prisons.
Well, last January 2000 my boss started going to a Doctor
who used Cambridge totally to help his patients, but you had
to commit to the program for 7 months and pay $1500 dollars
up front. By April she had lost 50-60#. (Last I talked to
her, she had lost 84#) We talked about Cambridge a lot but
her Dr. was too far for me to go.
When I got up to 240# again, I was adamantly determined that
I was not going to gain anymore. So... one day she called me
and told me that Cambridge could be ordered on the internet.
I immediately got on the web and contacted them and made an
order. I ordered over $300 worth because I was determined to
do it just like my boss.
Well, I did total Cambridge, the 330 cal per day formula,
for two weeks to
start, as recommended. From then until July, I just added
things like plain
salad when we went out, or a plain baked potato, broccoli,
other veggies, and broth. although I cannot digest veggies
very well since my gastroplasty, I can eat some if I am
careful. By July I weighed 200#. By the holiday season I
weighed 187# was wearing size 14, down from size 26-28. I
had more energy than I've had for a long time and felt
healthier than ever. This product is total balanced
nutrition in fewer calories per day. The nicest thing about
it is that you can tailor it to your lifestyle and still
lose weight. By making sure you get your 3 servings of
Cambridge you can decide how many calories you need to have
to lose weight. Then just add sensible low fat, low sugar
foods to your diet and count the calories. I have several
customers who drink 2 shakes per day, breakfast and lunch
and then eat a sensible meal with their family in the
evening.
The reason I became a Cambridge consultant was because my
friends at work watched me lose weight and they wanted it
too. So of the original $300 I bought, I sold probably $250
worth to my friends. So I had to order more. I called Millie
Chron, the lady who sent me the first order. She told me I
should become a consultant since I was selling so much. That
way I could get it wholesale and make the bonuses offered.
Altogether last year I made $720 in bonuses and that is not
counting the money from selling at Retail. I'm not rich yet,
but more and more people are wanting on it. I am my own best
advertisement. I tell everyone about it wherever I go, which
means I can write off the miles for the business. While on
vacation last year, I delivered an order in Lemoore, CA and
gathered several customers along the way, so I was able to
write most of that off. It saves us a lot of bucks.
Anyway, sorry to go on and on, but I believe in this
product, like none I
have ever taken. It is the first diet I have been successful
with. I got a
bit carried away with snacks and things at work over the
holidays and I
gained 10# back. I went back mostly on Cambridge and lost
7#. But by then, I had hurt my back again and become
permanently disabled. I cannot get much exercise this time.
So I gained the 7# back. 197# was too close to 200# and at
that point I got my determination back. In the 14 full days
I have been back on total Cambridge, I have lost 17#. It is
a much bigger struggle this time, but I am still hanging in
there. I am determined not to recline here at the computer
and gain the weight back. Also by getting back on it, it
shows me that things can get out of hand because you're
adding the wrong calories, and still go back on total
Cambridge and determine to stay on the product and it works!
I am such a food-a-holic, it is awful. Wave ice cream,
especially Dairy
Queen, or dark chocolate in front of me and I need to be
really determined or I will succumb to the temptation. Most
of all we cannot punish ourselves for setbacks. Any habit we
are breaking is hard to get rid of and especially
eating.
If you would like to try it and you find you don't want to
continue then the
product is money back guaranteed. This time on my total
Cambridge, I started out having shakes and soups and bars
and once in a while Super Oats, to which I added 2T of
regular oats and micro waved it in about 12 oz of water and
zero calorie sprayable "I can't believe it isn't
butter" margarine. That added 20-30 calories to my
daily total. I kept my calories around 500 per day. The bars
have 170 calories, the shakes have 110-140 calories per
serving depending on which variety you get. The soups are
140 calories and the Super Oats are 160 calories. Then
because I was still feeling the munchies and wanting to eat
I went to the Original Formula totally, and get 330 Cal/day.
I feel much better with that. I also started losing a little
over a pound a day. I am hardly ever hungry now and in fact
have to force myself to remember to do all the shakes.
Pretty tough, I'd say!
It is easy to vary your diet to fit your needs. I use diet
sodas and ice in the
blender with Cambridge artificial flavors and shake mix if I
want cold
shakes. If I want hot, I add the 10 Cal/tsp Coffee creamer,
1 packet of Sweet 'N Low, and one of the several flavorings
we have. It adds variety and taste. I also mix them with
more liquid than is called for and flavor it to make it
tastier and then I can nurse a large shaker for hours and
feel like I am not starving.
